Benefit Brunch, April 17, 2010  Noon - 2:30 PM

The Power of Family

with featured speaker

Lee Woodruff

This benefit will support the life-changing work of Clarke School for Hearing and Speech / New York, where deaf and hard of hearing children learn to listen and talk. While the city pays tuition and fees, that only covers approximately half of the actual cost of educating each child.

Lee Woodruff, and her husband Bob Woodruff, are parents of a Clarke New York alumna. Bob is a former ABC anchor and current host of ABC's Focus Earth. He is also co-author with Lee, of In an Instant: A Family's Journey of Love and Healing, about the effects of the 2006 explosion in Iraq that left Bob with a traumatic brain injury. Lee is a life and family contributor for ABC's Good Morning America and author of Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress.

The event will include a buffet brunch at the beautiful Battery Gardens restaurant overlooking New York Harbor. There will be a silent auction and Lee will be signing her latest book, which will be available for purchase.

The president of Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech, Bill Corwin, and the director of the New York campus, Meredith Berger, will also be discussing the phenomenal work Clarke is doing.

If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Washburn, Regional Development Director: kwashburn@clarkeschools.org, 212.585.3500.

Thank you so much for all you do for the children of Clarke!

Previously Bob Woodruff was scheduled to appear with his wife, but due to a news assignment, he is unable to attend.
